Obituary Roy Fenning NARPO Essex Remembers

Dear Members,

It is with great sadness I have to inform you that one of our branch members Roy Fenning sadly passed away on the afternoon of Thursday 9th April.

I have been asked by his wife Bev to send this email to let you know, Roy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about six weeks ago, and sadly his condition deteriorated rapidly, despite his battle, passing away peacefully in a nursing home yesterday afternoon, where he had received excellent care.

I personally have known Roy and Bev since I joined the job and was stationed at Harlow with them. Roy was at that point a DS and was an excellent detective within the CID department, moving up the ranks through his career. A lovely man who I am sure a lot of you would have known and remember with great fondness.

As you are aware due to the current situation only a few members of the family are allowed to attend the funeral. Bev wanted me to let you know when
the situation changes she will be arranging a memorial in celebration of Roy’s life and she would welcome his friends/colleagues attendance at that occasion.

I will update you all when I receive details of this event.

Bev would also like to thank all the people who have been in contact sending their condolences

Sue

Sue Heaton
Branch Secretary
