Saturday 15th February “Get Together”
All, a final reminder regarding the get together this Saturday which will be held in the downstairs bar at Essex Police Sports Pavillion HQ between 1030 and 1300hrs. Bill Pirie will be talking about his life, and I am sure he will have some interesting stories. Also, a presentation will be made by Karen Tunstill from Simply Stride regarding the course she is offering to members.
Access will be easier as it is in the downstairs bar, so would encourage any members who have not previously attended due to the stairs and mobility issues to come along and join us.
Refreshments will be provided so please pop along and see your old colleagues and have a cuppa and a catch-up, be great to see some new faces.
The next one is being arranged for 4th April so please save the date.
Branch AGM – Monday 20th April 2000hrs HQ Sports Pavillion
In the past, the attendance of members has been low at our Branch AGM. This is the most important meeting of the year where you can attend and find out what NARPO has been doing on your behalf, as well as provide any thoughts you have on how we can improve or suggest initiatives you may wish us to progress.
As you are aware in my first year as secretary I have been trying to encourage members to participate in various activities we are arranging and the feedback we have had from attendees so far has been good.
I would, therefore, encourage as many of you who are available to attend the above meeting. We have over 350 members and would be great to see a good turnout at this important meeting.
Refreshments will be provided.
I have been asked by one of our members on behalf of the Mayor of Chelmsford to circulate the attached flyer for a social event he is holding to raise money for his charity, Parkinson’s UK (Chelmsford Branch).
The event is a Curry evening at Indian Nights Restaurant in Widford on Monday 23rd March and consists of a banquet-style meal including Poppadoms, Starters, Mains and Side dishes (dietary needs can be catered for). There will also be entertainment from Asha-Louise Laurence, the wonderful Jazz and Blues singer that has supported the Mayor for a number of years and a close-up magician will tour the tables.
If you book a table with friends you will have your own table so its a great chance for our members to get together for a social evening whilst supporting a great charity.
Please contact Jon de Vries directly to book a table or if there is just two of you, to ask to join with another table.
Please see flyer here.
