NARPO Chelmsford Weekly Update 18 April 2020

Dear Members,

Our Branch website is at
You will find lots of information about the Branch including the latest newsletters and updates as well as details of forthcoming events. You can also link to the main NARPO site which has a wide range of useful information.

I hope you are all keeping well and managing to cope during this difficult time, please remember we are here if you need any assistance or support from our welfare team.

I may not circulate the news as often at the moment as due to the current situation – not as much information is coming out from the centre at present and limited offers due to the current travel restrictions.

The next Get-Together is still scheduled for 6th June however we will take a view closer to the time as to whether this will go ahead.

AGM 20.00hrs Monday 20th April 2020 – Conference Call

As I have already stated in previous news our Annual General Meeting will take place at the above time but via a conference call. If you would like to join the call please send me an email and I will send you a meeting invite with the dial-in codes.

Help for the NHS

Many Hospitals and care homes etc are desperate for scrubs and scrub bags and many local groups are being set up to organise sewers, issuing patterns and often fabric kits.

There is a Facebook page called ‘For The Love Of Scrubs’ which can be found by following this link:

This group was formed after identifying a shortage in supply for scrubs to frontline NHS staff during the 2020 COVID-19 Epidemic. This Facebook group is a platform to enable those who are able to, and would like to contribute towards supplying hospitals local to themselves with scrubs for front line workers. Some hospitals in the UK are facing shortfall in scrubs and PPE, this means our nurses are not as safe as they should be. They are aiming to produce 100+ sets of adult nursing scrubs.

Patterns and designs can be accessed via the link below:

That’s all for now, look after yourselves and please remember we have fantastic welfare officers if you need any help.
